differences in V8s and trans question

Are the V8s in the 4th gen all the same? Or is the 03 not VVTI? If so when did the VVTI start and what are the difference between that and non VVTI in terms of power ect.

Also what about the tranny? For the V8s did they change the auto trans at any time?

I am looking to buy one and I would hate to get 1 model year then regret not looking for one 1 year newer.

V8 got VVTi in 2005 I believe. Tranny didn't change throughout generation.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like for a little bit of an extra cost the 05 and up are worth compared to the 03/04.
