Recently upsized my '99 from 265/70/16s to 265/75/16s, but my spare is still at stock size. I went through the tire section, and the discussion on problems associated with different size spares have primarily been from members with 4th or 5th gens.
Any 3rd gens run into problems with a 265/70 spare being used as an emergency flat replacement on a truck with 265/75s? I'm not the type to leave a spare on for a long duration, so it would be used just to get from the scene of the flat to a tire shop. I wouldn't want to do even that if it could screw something up having a slightly different rotation rate.
Today I came across a wrangler td brand new (on a rusted out rim) for $50. However, TDs are LT tires and I'm currently on P tires. If there is substantial risk in using a smaller spare, is there any problem using an LT as a spare for Ps? From what I've read I wasn't sure if there was a subtle size difference in addition to thicker sidewall/heavier load ability.
