Differential Binding after Lift

Hey guys so I got OME 886 and 895 with bilstein 5100's installed and set at 1.75 about 2 weeks ago. Right after that, when turning especially on hill and while going up hills offroading, VSC would beep and what felt kinda like abs would come on. I took it back to the shop and they said it was my diff binding and I needed a diff drop and that my CV's were leaking. Well I installed it and it still bound or whatever. Now I just put on my CBI front bumper and it is still binding though not as badly.

From what I've read most people don't need/use diff drops due to the negative stock CV angle and people obviously run more than like a 3.25 or so front lift. My question is what on earth is going on :wtf: and how can I fix it.

Hair brained thoughts: I wonder if the rigidity of the OMEs is causing issues with your ATRAC interpreting an issue with traction?... Just a thought. Also, being in full-time 4wd maybe the ATRAC sensitivity is calibrated differently?

You have a pretty common setup from what I see, so I can't imagine you need a diff drop...

I thought ATRAC was only a 5th gen thing and that it was kinda a replacement to lockers which I have. Also I turned of VSC or whatever the stock button is and it still bound.
 
Post a few pics of your CV angles and such. We may be able to better assist. CV leaking is somewhat common because the angle is now positive rather than negative so the opposite side of the boot is getting more grease. New CV clips might do the trick.

ATRAC is on all 4th gen 4Runners, and it cannot really be disabled -- even if the VSC is off.

Gotcha. My bad. Could that still be it if when traction control is turned off it still locks and how would I go about getting that adjusted (how much will it cost). It feels more like the diff/CV since I don't feel it in the brakes and to my understanding ATRAC uses ABS mainly.

Wait, so did you install just the differential drop itself or did you also replace the differential bearing and the CV boots, I didn't catch what you meant by "Well I installed it..."

It could be a differential bearing and/or CV Axle that already had a problem before the lift and the issue is now made worse by the exaggerated CV angle.

I installed the drop myself. So basicly what I'm hearing is that the lift isn't really or shouldn't be the cause of the locking/binding.
 
Those angles look typical. I would try the Zero Point first as it's the easiest and is quite possibly the culprit. Let us know how it turns out.
 
One problem I see and it may not take care of your binding at the differential. You do know that your coils up front already comes with lift height. And usually when using OME coils and billies, they are set at "0". I do believe they recommend "0" as a setting using them as a set.
 
I know the ome already provide lift. I'm using the billies to level it out since 2 front and rear isn't level. I am however getting it lowered to 1.25 on the billies also I'm almost positive the billies only go from .85 up not 0 but I could be wrong.
 
Wait, so let me clarify something...

You're saying the symptoms are when you're off-roading uphill on tight turns at speed the VSC/TRAC system kicks in, NOT that the drivetrain is physically binding up?
 
I don't really know what it is. I have been led to believe it was thesis but now it's sounds like it could be traction control systems. It beeps and feels like something binding but when I used the stock button to turn off what I believe is vsc. It still did it. However the binding still easily could be caused by atrac or something else. I'll just have to wait and see when I take it in. This tread is more of to give me an idea what to ask them to look at.
