What weight fluid to I put in my 2008 4Runner V8 FWD? I have seen a lot of posts from people using either 75W-90 or 80W-90. In the manual it states to use SAE-90 for the front and rear differentials for the 4.7L V8. I have looked everywhere and I am unable to find SAE-90. Can I use synthetic 75W-90 or 80W-90 and which is better? I live in MA so it gets pretty cold in the winter. Thanks in advance.

M1 75w-90 here as well. And yes. New crush washers are a good idea. A few posts around here list out the parts number or just drop by the dealer and pick them up.

I also changed to Mobil 1 75w-90 this spring. You do want to buy new crush washers. You can order them from the dealer for pretty cheap.

Not to hijack, but has anyone used Redline or Amsoil 75w-110 out back in just the rear diff? I was thinking about that on my next change since I do effectively 100% highway driving and the 75w-110 is supposed to be about the same viscosity as the "old" SAE90 that was originally recommended.

I have Royal Purple in both diff's and the trans case. I also use it in my motor and coolant. With new plugs I was averaging 22mgp's before I added the roof rack, lift and tires.
