differential oil type dead horse?

Hi,
I've already read many threads about this but still wanted to ask.
Vehicle is 07 SE 4WD v6.
I will be changing the diff and transfer case oils.

Per TSB DL003-07:

two different types of oil (for LS and for non-LS) in front and rear differentials.

Afaik, 4wd SE is non-lsd differential and per above TSB, Toyota oil part # 08885–02506 is to be used.
LSD diff uses 08885–02606.

Original service manual does not specify LS or non-LS when indicating differential oil types to use.

Do you all feel it is safe to use LS type (like Mobil1 LS 75w-90) oil in 4wd 4R?
Any harm from friction modifiers?

Not sure if totally relevant, but I just did my diffs in my truck from ECGS and they were pretty insistent on me using the 75-140 Lucas Gear Oil, but more specifically using any non-synthetic oil.

I'm doing the same thing as you are and just picked up my online order from the local advanced auto zone store. The clerk was new and seemed a bit confused about the whole process and brought be 3 different types of Mobile-1 synth gear oil. I directed him to the type in the below picture (75W-90 "Limited Slip Friction Modifier Included").

I believe that is for our 4WD models and hopefully I won't get the " rear diff. gear chattering" that some have reported when using Mobile-1 brand diff. oil.

I'll report back after changing out the oil later on today.

Our trucks do not have a true limited slip rear diff so limited slip additive is neither req'd nor will it hurt anything if its there. Our "LSD" utilizes the brakes to provide additional traction to slipping wheels so no diff involvement.
