Direct Replacement LED Fog Light Assemblies for 2014 & Other 5th Gens

I came across these lights when doing some searching for options on my 2014 4runner fog lights.
Morimoto XB LED Fog lights

They seemed to be a good replacement for the OEM fog lights. After some more research, I found that the 2014 uses same part number fog light as previous 5th gens. Based on this I purchased the lights. The website above now lists the lights fitting 2010-2015 4runners.

The lights come with H11 connectors which you have to place the male terminals of the lights into. Just do this after verifying the polarity of the factory connector on the vehicle side. On the back of each light is a screw used to adjust the aim of the light.

For the 2014, the entire front bumper has to removed. Basically removing some clips and several screws. Relatively easy.

The fog light assemblies are then removed from the bumper by removing 3 clips and 1 screw.

The fog lights are assembled to their brackets using 2 screws. The fog lights do have 4 screw bosses, but 2 are slipped into slots in the brackets and 2 have screws.

The spacing of the screw bosses on the LED are slightly wider than those on the factory light. As a result, for the 2 bosses that slide into the slots, plastic material had to be removed from the outside edges of the bosses with a dremel.

Other than the easy modification above, the rest of the install was simple and was done in about 1 hour. Here are the lights installed. I aimed the lights per the factory instructions and have a pretty good cutoff. Basically the top edge of the light on the wall should be same height of light itself with vehicle parked 3m from wall.

Have yet to drive at night to see what lighting is like, but obviously the color is different from the factory halogens and match my HID's better.

Just installed these on my TE last night. Great product with relatively easy install. It's important that you adjust the aim on these after the install though. They come from the factory in a position that will cause glare for oncoming drivers. I.e. Aimed too high.

Ordered 7/5, shipped Monday, 7/7 (with tracking info), received Wednesday, 7/9, installed today.

I can confirm that no trimming or mods are required to install on a 2012 SR5. NO removal of bumper was required :becky:

Tools required - 1/4" drive ratchet, extension, 10mm socket, stubby Phillips screw driver (#2)


To replace right fog light, turn wheel to the right, remove three vertical screws that fasten inner fender liner to bumper cover, remove bottom two screws and access panel (5 screws). Pull fender liner back behind front inner edge of tire, that will hold liner out of your way (at least that's how it worked with my 285 Nitto's). Now reach in and release harness from bulb, remove single Phillips screw from upper right fog light bracket (be carefully not to allow light assembly to fall), remove OEM fog light by sliding assembly to the right until left tabs slide out of slots.






Factory fog light plug, white wire is positive (+), white/black is negative (-), insert fog light male tabs into provided plug end aligning red to white, black to white/black wires, push weather boots into end of plug to prevent moisture from entering plug. Plug fog light into factory harness, turn on headlights to verify new fog light illuminates :reddance:


Installation, align two left fog light tabs with slots in bumper (slide to the left), install single Phillips screw, reattach fender liner.



Repeat process for left fog light. Once complete, align both fog lights to factory specs using Phillips adjusting screw on the bottom of each light housing (counter clockwise = down, clockwise = up), reinstall lower access panel, time to enjoy better quality lights!
