Dirt Bike Thread

My wife and I ride I grew up riding and she just started after we got married
My bike 02 YZ250 2 Stroke, 1972 Suzuki 250 in process of getting around to restoring
Wife's bike 04 TTR230
 
Long time rider, on/off road riding and racing. Currently have 500exc, 690 enduro, Tl1000s and a SuperDuke 1290 on order due next month.

Go for it! That's what I've got at the moment, and don't want to get back on the 125 except for rare occasions haha. It's a great bike and wouldn't trade it for any four stroke :becky:

We should get helmet cams going in here too, any moto related stuff. Trails, racing, etc. [MENTION=102267]JBecker[/MENTION] They revamped South Fork recently, this was on the 250. I would def. try to make it out there sometime, it's a fun track:
 
You did say quads too.....

This is my son on what used to be only my quad. It was my Christmas surprise in 2000 (wow, I am getting old). Now he tears it up pretty good through the dunes on it.

I haven't been there in a long time. I ride at VMP, Tomahawk, Budds Creek, and Dawson Compound mostly. I'd like to check out South Fork again this season.

I can't watch that video on my iPhone for some reason. I'll check it out later.

Yea sorry about that, for some reason wouldn't let me make it available on mobile. Those tracks are all really fun, I'm hoping vmp decides to open up again soon. I've been riding at the Dawsons too, I rode out there last year a lot and made a few videos that you could check out on my youtube page once you get on a computer. For all I know you could be in one.
 
That pic of you on the 125 is at Dawson compound right? The double that has a deep landing leading to a right hand bowl turn, after the step up I think.

I was there a few times over the summer on my 250 SX 2 stroke.
 
i bought a '99 CR250R last year as my first bike. as a first bike...too much for me. 1st ride ended up being me trying to get to familiar with a tree. gave that one to my buddy

i bought a '00 CR125R about 2 months later. love that lil guy.

since i got the 4runner though, i've had no way of taking them to the track

i'm really hoping more people in GA show up on this thread...i need more friends that ride

Yep that's it, the jump I'm going off of is the booter tabletop before the big step up in the middle.

get a hitch carrier. they work great. I use one for my 450.

depending on the rack you get, and your fuel can you might be able to mount it on the carrier also.
 
I have both types - the simple tray type and the Joe Hauler jack-up style and both have their advantages. The Joe Hauler has the bike's wheels hanging down low, so if you're on any type of uneven terrain, you have to watch out for them. But the connection to the bike is solid (clamps on the pegs), its really easy to mount, especially after a long day of riding, and you can get an optional MX gas can holder.
I also have a Versahauler tray-type, that is a little simpler to mount a dirt bike, and it has a hitch to double capacity. Also, I can carry my sport bikes on it (with air bags), but the connection isn't quite as secure (straps only) and there's no clean way to carry gas. I normally strap the can to the bike between it and the truck.
 
Yeah, I've seen multiple bikes fall off trays, including my own (note to self; always double check the stepson's tie downs) but its pretty impossible for a bike to fall off the Joe Hauler.
