A cool note for that as well would be that a bunch of Subaru WRXs (even up to some fairly newer models) share the exact same seat design as the Celica and your camry.

I have to wonder how different the seat mounts are between the camrys and the 4runner/celica. I still absolutely prefer fabric over leather in every way but it's a cool alternative that's probably about the same price to do if you can get your hands on one. What year range did those seats come in the camry?

Those are Celica seats in my Camry. (7th gen, just the same as the ones in this post) You can see the welded mounts there in the pic... modified to fit my Camry.

As for WRX/STi vs. Celica seats - they are the same similar, don't have any parts in common. They feel quite different when sitting in them too.

I nearly bought an 89 Celica, the dude screwed me and let someone go in before his "earliest time" and they drove away with it as I pulled up... was super pissed!

The seats are a little different for yours then.. Wonder if they used different kinds of padding for your particular seats. Looking ad pictures, some leathers use different pdding (like yours) and most leathers along with all the fabrics run a deeper seat with larger edge padding along the entire sides of the seat.

I go back and forth between my seats and my brothers WRX and they are completely identical other than seat fabric (follow the EXACT same fabric pattern though)

Nice install! bad luck with the oak interior with those seats though haha..

Are those seats fairly expensive?

Cools seats but look to be a pain to get in & out of. Definitely not for a DD, weekend warrior sure.
Also those green feet! Yikes! Too many colors going on in that interior,
tan/oak, green, black, red threads....

it IS a daily... lol

the green was supposed to match the the threads on the stock floor mats. (which it does). but now i have those rubber mats...

the red and black seats were allot cheaper than the black and black seats. cant stand it, believe me. maybe the red will get painted over some day.

as for getting in and out, it is a bit of a pain. you have to slide the seat alll the way back to get out.

also the only way to adjust the backrest is to open the door to reach the lever...


but my OH MY, it is oh so comfortable once you're in. it is well worth all the little pains and quirks. i love them.
