Dirtyfingers' build thread..

just scrolled through the thread, looks good man!
how'd your buddy black out his corner lights? I've been wanting to do that to mine, tried once and failed, but have a new set and am ready to try again

Alright, as promised, here's some pictures of everything mounted up! These pictures were taken at night with my iPhone. I apologize for the quality.

I had to shorten the intake tube to fit in the inline air filter I bought off eBay. I'm not sure if it's the same as Singtoe bought, it seems a bit bigger.

Here's a full picture of the bay.

And here's a most recent picture of it with the modified bumper;)

Glad to hear you have it back together man. Will you be welding that center frame piece together? I assume it is somewhat important.

Man, everything is coming along nicely...great work so far...Did you by chance look into TIS toyota information services? for a 15.00 fee you can download anything you want for 48hrs. I had to have every wiring diagram for both vehicles to figure out the wiring on my swap. couldn't have figured it out without TIS. what are you having trouble with wiring wise? maybe I can help.

Small update as far as the V8 sawp goes, i ended up having an actual shop take it in because the electrical aspect of it got to be too much, and I have had absolutly no time to work on it beings our ship decided to make us stay over night every three days and working 12 hours a day on top of that.... Anywho, hopefully the shop is able to get everything situated.

After the headache of trying online resources, I just bit the bullet and ordered the actual manuals, that way I had everything in front of myself and I could do it myself, but once everything was wired up, I still had trouble getting it to start...for no reason...not sure whats going on with it now. so hopefully the shop is able to figure it out before i lose my mind over it.

What exactly do you have wired up? what is the engine doing or not doing?
Is it cranking, is the fuel pump coming on with the key on? etc... etc...

What year was that Tundra? I can try to locate some wiring diagrams to look over. or if you can post up the "Engine Control" diagram for the tundra, so I could scope it out.

We can figure this thing out...I'm sure of it.

Small update on the Runner, its looking pretty good at the shop, he's finishing up the electrical, but the guy working on it is taking his time with it and ensuring that everything is done right.

:car: I'll have to look this up lol

there are so many posts per day on the page, 75% of it is just questions that are all on t4r.org, the other 20% is this one guy with his arb bumper and red 4runner with ten thousand 10" hid lights mounted on it. and the rest are people posting wheeling pics.

also no one on that page knows what t4r.org is hahahaha.

Long time coming

Hey all, I'm not dead, suprisingly. I have been getting nothing but crap for trying to get the electrical side of the tundra swap done and finally gave up due to being screwed over by three different people (shops)... Well I was about to give up before i went to a junk yard looking for a relay to just see if i could try one last thing before i sold the truck, well while i was there i had hit a golden pot at the end of the rainbow, an untouched, but rolled tundra that was a 2004, with the same part numbers on the ECU as my tundra i had bought for the original swap. I picked the engine harness out of it along with everything including the fuse boxes, both interior and engine bay, and pretty much everything. so if i could predict the future i want to say that i should haveit running as soon as i get back from being underway. updates and pics soon to come.
