Disable door chime ?

Just take out the door switch and unplug the wires from behind it, isolate the ends with shrink tape or elecrrical tape, and attach a string so you can access the wires in case you want to undo the whole thing later. then put back the switch - which will not be functional anymore. Quiet as a mouse.

I took the front doors off of my 5th Gen 4Runner to enjoy the cool weather and want to turn off the door chime while I'm riding around.

I'm not sure what I'm missing here, but I can't seem to find the wire you guys are describing. I pulled each of the ones circled in the attached pic (one at a time), but neither stopped the chime. What am I missing?

Any idea why that's not working for me? I unplugged it and still getting the chime when I drive.

Is there a different chime that goes off when you try to drive with the door open?

I use just the right size peace of wood. Could probably make something perfect if I used it more.
