Disable HD Radio?

Hello,
I have a 2012 limited with nav and live just far enough outside of Seattle that my radio is constantly picking up and dropping the HD Radio signal. This becomes pretty annoying as the level jumps and drops as the signals comes and goes. I know I can hit the Hd radio button to turn it off one time but when I am flipping though stations I have to hit it every time and I prefer my hands on the wheel.

Does anyone know of a way to have the default be HD off?

I know there is a way with my 2013 Trail, Nav with no JBL, but I can't remember the details.

On some stations, every minute you hear stuff get a little repeat. Think of that scene in The Matrix where he sees the cat, and you will get my drift. If I switch to analog, it goes away.

While listening to the FM, I simply hit the option button and then deselect HD. I didn't notice if that setting sticks or not.

I turn off HD when heading to the mountains as the radio flips between HD and analog....quite annoying.

I am able to hit that button but I really don't want to every time I change the station.
