Disconnect Relay

Does the 5th Gen 4 Runner have a disconnect relay up stream from the 7 pin connector?
I just bought a 21 foot travel trailer. On long hauls to a destination we like to stop overnight at a Flying J or some such. Obviously I don't want to pull power from the tow vehicle. I'd much prefer using the batteries in the trailer. The 7 pin is in an awkward position recessed behind the bumper. On the way back from British Columbia where I purchased the trailer every night I pulled the cable out. What a pain. Back to home base, I performed this simple test.
1. One evening after dark I plugged into the tow vehicle.
2. Turned on a lights in the trailer.
3. Flipped the main battery disconnect in the trailer to OFF.

The lights went out. Is it fair to assume then that there is no voltage coming from the the 4 Runner since the lights are out? I tried to use a volt meter to get a reading in the 7 pin with the ignition in the ON position. I couldn't get a reading but its awkward getting in there.

simple test for you - press the brake pedal of your TV - brake lights on trailer will still come on & if you turn on your headlights - marker lights on trailer will come on. So it's not isolated - you will avoid big power drain from TV by doing your trailer disconnect but small drain stuff will still happen - don't sweat it - it's ok. BTW I have used my 4R for last 5 years like you are using yours - no issue & never a flat battery in the 4R :-)

I'll run that test tomorrow. Thanks. I've just heard these sad tales about people boondocking that left their TV tethered to the trailer....

I am also looking at getting one of these 7-Way Trailer Plug Socket Extension Cables. Just for peace of mind...
