Display fading

I recently noticed the center console where it shows the temp is starting to fade. I went to the dealership (prob bad idea) to see if it is a bulb that can be replaced and was told that the whole console needs to be replaced and will cost 300.00 for the part alone!

Does anyone know of a cheaper way to get it fixed???

The Dealer "stealers" are sure helpful....NOT! every little item is a BIG money maker for them. :rant:
