Ditch Light Bracket Comparison

To my knowledge, all of these ditch light brackets mount to the hood side of the hinge with the exception being the cbi brackets which mount to the car side of the hinge. Can anyone confirm this? I plan to run ditch lights and relocate my CB antenna to the brackets as well so I would like the antenna to remain fixed and not move when I open the hood.

SDHQ Ditch light brackets

Currently no ditch brackets on their website. Anyone have updated info on the SDHQ product ? or product recommendation ?

So I bought the SDHQ ditch light brackets and they started to rust in about 4 months! I am going to put some pictures here for you guys to see...it is also peeling on the outer edges which means they did a poor powder coating job.

SDHQ says they don't have warranty on the powder coating which is crazy considering they charge +100$ for the brackets!

My recommendation would be to get the cheaper brackets because you have to re-powder the expensive one eventually on your dime eventually.

As far as functionality they are all the same.

I have the CBI brackets. They sit out of the way, I don't even really notice the pods while driving. I did have to use a heat gun to mold the plastic cowling by the wipers, as mentioned by the OP. Not a big deal, but I can see why some would want to avoid that. For half the price of Rago, it was fine with me.

They are sturdy though, absolutely no wobble. Powder coat is good.

I just installed my SDHQ brackets and looks like I am having fitment issues. My hood won’t close flush. I don’t mind trimming or I might try heating up the plastic and closing while soft.

Edit:

I worked on moving the brackets as far forward as I could and it fixed my driver side. Hood is flush there now.

Still having issues with the passenger side sitting flush. I will work on adjusting some more and I’ll update this post with end result.

SDHQ has some nice products. I just installed their battery terminals and switch pro dash mount. I think Ill be going for their abs sensor covers next.

I've got the CaliRaised ditch light brackets and they're low profile. Similar to the SDHQ offering.

Hood glare is a non issue with the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Selective Yellow variant with Clear driving lens for the 4000K light temp.

Makes me wonder if I even need a light bar

Just a heads-up... if you plan to add or already have a snorkel, the taller ones may interfere. I have the CBI brackets and had (just removed) the Safari snorkel. My light would make contact with the snorkel when the hood was open, I'm pretty sure the taller mount would make the hood not open all the way and possibly not stay open.

Well nobody needs a set of raptor lights but here we are.

My point being, you need 2 light bars. :D

I started with the Rago brackets and they were obnoxiously tall, I also had to permanently modify the windshield plastic cowling which I was very disappointed with. I switched to the CaliRaised Low Profile brackets and have had zero issues with fitment or vision. The CaliRaised sit nice and low to the hood and look great. Highly recommend them

Yes to above please lmk what brackets are on your pro rack I’m looking to do similar front and back on my rack

Is anyone running any of these mounts with a snorkel with no issues at all? I ma looking at adding lights and I am unsure if O am going to add them to the front bumper or hood mounts.

Was about to order brackets from CBI.
Shipping & tax was a few dollars less than the brackets.
Thought I was on Ebay for a moment.
