DIY 2015 TEP auto lock change programming

Greetings,

I searched and could only find the following threads;

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/107051-door-lock-unlock-programming.html
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/74960-changing-auto-door-lock-unlock-settings.html

Neither seem to work for my 4R. I looked through the manual and came across the section where it states about things that can be changed, but just alludes to the dealer doing it.

Right now, it unlocks when shifting into park, which I do not want it to do. I rather have it not do anything, but the other choice is when the driver door opens, all unlocks.

Despite numerous attempts following the two threads above, I cannot get it to work, perhaps there was a programming change?

Does anyone have another method, or was successful using the above methods on a later model, better yet a 2015?

Some have had good luck getting a dealer to re-program, others get the TIS software and cable on ebay and do it yourself. I set mine to lock after it`s up to about 12 mph. I have had a few off-road trips where the doors do not lock for a long time.

Search TIS on this forum for details.

I will probably just run over to the dealer tomorrow to get it done, I just bought it a few days ago, so I hope they will just be nice and do it quick and for free.

I followed the manual instructions and it worked for me... on about the 30th try.

I tried finding the change instructions in the manual, I can only find the sheet which shows what changes can be made; what page is it in your manual?

Ok, after 30 tries, I think I will mess with it a little, I loath having to go to the dealership, I have a feeling I will be waiting for an hour for them to do this, and I just do not have the time right now, I have not even had the time to drive my 4R since driving it from the dealership when I bought it (that and no place I need to go).

I have changed mine myself without TechStream. It is very involved and requires you to be able to rub your head and pat your belly, black magic, a voodoo doll and lots of beer. Also requires you try it 29 times before working on the 30th time. I also had to take the 2nd derivitave of the original instruction equation. It can be done though. I mean, if I can do it anyone can.

I patted my head and rubbed my belly, had some wine, ate french toast, sang to an 80's big hair mix, and tried the lock thing like dozens of times, still a no go.

Will just take it to the dealership, and look to see if there is anything else I would like changed, but I do not think so.

104-105 in the 2014 Owners Manual.

I guess the 2015 manual is different as those pages have about the smart key.

Anyway, I got it to work, it ended up just disabling any auto lock feature, which is perfect. I did not know I got it to work until after I drove it; interesting that it was auto locking when I was messing with it, but when I started it up and went somewhere, I noticed the auto feature did not work any more.

Do any of you know if there is a way to program the fob to perform a "windows down" operation? I thought that I heard someone mention there is.... Not up, but down...

Thanks...

and how do you disable the auto lock feature?

I believe Sake and Sushi might put you over the top on this.

Hey everyone. I was able to program a replacement key using the Techstream software, but I wasn’t able to get the wireless remote to work. And for some reason now my doors won’t lock or unlock using the key physically in the door. The motor works but the doors won’t lock or unlock. This worries me just Incase my battery dies on the fob. Has anyone seen this before, or had any luck doing the “lock unlock 5x” method of programming. Thanks.

I installed a KENWOOD 994s nav unit with a maestro module and I can change all those door lock and, lights, and window settings right on the screen of the radio now. I can also flip to a screen that shows my tire pressures and all kinds of guages from RPM and speed to EGT and coolant temp
