how do I disable auto door locks 1998 Limited

I just purchased a really clean '98 Limited with 126,000 miles to replace my 2000 SR5 Sport that was totaled by insurance after hitting a deer last month.
As soon as you start the vehicle the doors auto lock without putting the shift lever in gear. When I shut off the truck the doors don't auto unlock and I have to manually unlock them to open the doors. My 2000 and my 98 SR5 didn't do this. How do I disable the auto lock function? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I searched the forum and Google with no luck. I did find info for 4th gens and 5th gens.

all your dome light switches working correctly ( door jam switches)...they can mess with the correct function of the auto lock

Sounds like an issue with either the factory RS3000 alarm/keyless system or some aftermarket alarm.

My '99 does not auto lock or unlock (different sub-generation, but I don't think Toyota did factory auto lock/unlock with start/stop on any 3rd gen).

Maybe it has something to do with the led accent lights the PO installed. I want to remove them anyway. I'll trace down the wiring and remove everything. He did have them wired to come on when vehicle starts and shut off when the key is turned off.

Yes all dome lights and door switches are working as they should.

There is an auto lock setting in the factory alarm that needs turned off.

There are plenty of threads with the pdf instructions.
