DIY - Hi Lift Mount in Cargo Area

Supplies:

Some 1/8" Aluminum Stock
2 3"x3/8" Bolts
A Pack of Washers.
2 Wing Nuts

Cost - about $10 from Home Depot

Instructions:

1. Remove the rear trim panel and pull back the carpet to expose the anchor rings/plates.
2. Use the existing mounting hardware from the plates.
3. Cut a piece of aluminum stock, drill two holes, and remount.
4. Use washers to "shim" the Hi Lift

This is by no means as nice as the mount Steve sells at Sonoran Steel, but it's an easy Budget Minded option. I have the 48" Cast/Steel and the fit is perfect and secure. I didn't have time to snap a pic, but you get the idea...

I'd like a picture, too. I'm tired of the high-lift scratching up the back, and I don't have a roof rack or rear bumper to attach it to yet. I did see a really cool set-up over the weekend. Another local 4R Owner attached some fourtreks rings on the grill guard of his SW front bumper. Looked great and keeps it in place. The rings are a bit pricey though!

ummm no. Hey just wanted to see the final product. If you dont want to post pics, dont!, but it sure would be nice.

Its cool when people are interested enough in what you did that they want to see it. But hey what would I know......

Yep. Obviously Steve's @ Sonoran Steel are much nicer than what I made, can't emphasize that enough. Basically the aluminum stock is the base, then drill 2 holes: one for the stock bolt and a larger one for your hilift mounting bolts. Mine both look like the one on the right, and then I used washers to shim where needed to avoid any rattles.
