DIY Rooftop Tent?

What is the point of RTT's?

I've never understood the appeal. They look cool sure, but the practicality isn't apparent to me.

RTT = Humans for Dinner, with a view. :biggrin1:

I for sure did not spend $2500. Closer to $800. I love my RTT because I alone can get it set up in about 10 minutes if I am not drinking. Plus it's off the ground away from creepy crawlers. Many advantages but there are disadvantages too. But I will not go back to a ground tent as long as I have my current rig.

WOULDNT A DECENT GROUND TENT KEEP CREEPY CRAWLERS OUT, AND A BEAR OR LION WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM GETTING TO YOUR ROOF. I WOULD THINK IN THAT SITUATION, IT WOULD BE EASIER TO RUN OUT YOUR TENT AND INTO YOUR RIG VS CLIMBING DOWN FROM THE ROOF.

SIDE NOTE: I WOULD LIKE TO OWN AN RTT:frusty:

\/ \/ it's habit at work, we are required to type in all caps. I'll try to keep it down. You could always turn your hearing aid down too. :p
