Okay, so I fixed the issue. One of the yellow tabs wasn't full depressed.

Glad you figured that out. I was pretty scared about pushing too hard on those for fear of blowing out my crotch.

For you guys that have swapped your steering wheel, did your clock spring/spiral cable assembly have this issue?



I've been trying to find an annoying rattle in the drivers side dash area and I'm thinking this is probably the culprit.

Usually they're somewhat loose when they're installed up to that point. But I can't say I recall one being that noisy... You could always remove the clock spring, tape the connectors and see if the noise goes away.

Same here. I didn't run into an issue.

As soon as I get some free time, I'll give it a shot. With my luck, it's probably something else rattling.

Question to those with the perforated leather wheels, how do you like the feel of the leather?

I recently got the shift knob which seems to be made of the same materials (seems like they are a set) and don't like the feel of the leather at all. For a shift knob on an auto it's not a big deal since it's mostly decoration but on a steering wheel it would be a dealbreaker.

I like the sporty look of that wheel but I think I'd go with the other version.

To be brutally honest, it doesns't have the OEM feel to it. It feels just fine to me, but it's not the soft leather I'm used to on my parent's Lexus cars. Hope that helps.

I've had mine on a little over a year and it feels nice to me. The leather is pretty soft and the stitching is good. It is softer/nicer than the wheel it replaced for sure, will it compare to the wheel in a $60k car? no. I am happy with mine and it is holding up well. I also don't find the 'wood' sections to be noticeably cold in the winter, which is a plus.

Has anyone had issues with the leather cracking on their steering wheels prematurely? I'm about to reach out to the seller and see if they provide any type of warranty on this kind of issue.

Nope. Mine is showing wear on it but definitely no cracking.

So far so good. No signs of any "wear and tear", of course, I make sure my hands are clean before I drive. My wife mostly using our 4R, so she is good. Love this mod

Reporting "wheel wear". As you can see, there is SOME wear to the 8 and 4 o'clock position leather. After 5 years of use, it's not something I'm worried about or can immediately notice. I continue to enjoy my wheel each time I drive it. Worse case scenario, I'll just replace it with another one or wrap this one. The piano-black wheel is still in great shape. I've lost count how many times I accidently whacked it accidently with my watch/tools/etc.

Wondering if the rim is thicker on all these than the stock leather wheel - even on the top piano black part. Stock wheel feels skinny.

So I got this wheel in 2014 and its just finally starting to really show heavy wear. I need to find another replacement as its starting to bother me. Hows everyone elses faring?
