Do 2014+ SR5s have a compass or not? I'm so confused

I read a bunch of threads that said once the mult-display above the vents was replaced with just a clock in 2014 we lost the compass. But I've seen at least one pic which seems to indicate *SOMEONE* was able to enable this on the dash info display. Is there a setting somewhere I've missed? I don't have the compass letter showing above my ODO icon.

This is the only image I can seem to find anywhere that shows it.

Is this something I can enable through carista? I still have access to that but thought I had gone through every option with a fine-tooth comb already and didn't see it.

If you have a clock above your vents, you need to do the 'oldred' mod. You pretty much swap your clock for a different display. From what I remember it's not a simple plug and play. You can hit up @oldreds4r on Instagram as I don't think he is on here anymore. Here is a thread from the other forum.

maybe the base SR5 doesn't have it. can anyone with a base SR5 confirm?

i guess it either shows up on that display or it doesnt.

I've never noticed, so ran outside to check my 18, and yep its there, on every screen. On the 21 I sold a couple months back, it also had the compass arrow along with posted speed limit sign.

i dont have the navigation unit so i'm betting it has something to do with that. i dont have posted speed limit either.

You’re right. The user manual says the compass is included in vehicles with a navigation system.

I can offer what I saw with my 2014 SR5 prem with nav system. I had the compass in my display until I replaced my head unit with a new one from Trail Grid Pro.
