Do OEM spark plug wires say "DENSO" on them?

Hi all,

Sorry, I just ordered a spark plug wire set from an eBay dealer (has lots of positive feedback), but the tires don't say Denso on them (just IIG) and feel kind of cheap. Of course I could just be a bit wary though as I know not all parts say the manufacturer name on them.

Anyone else have experience with this?

OEM are, and say, SUMITOMO and have the year of manufacture on the wires. Denso is owned by Toyota Group, and many dealers sell them, but they are not OEM. They are good wires though--I would use them.

IIG does not sound right, but I have never had a set of Denso's in my hands.

IIG is NOT oem. Just like most eBay sellers, he doesn't sell OEM parts. Too much of that kind of crap going on and people think they are getting OEM parts due to misleading and downright false ads.

If I am not mistaken, I believe the newer wires say "Yazaki", but I could be mistaken? I know for 100% sure Toyota used Yazaki as a manufacturer for SOME of their vehicles.

I also double checked my 1999 4Runner engine (original wires, date stamped 1999) and they say "Sumitomo"

I have seen both Yazaki and Sumitomo over the years(1985-1997 vehicles).

*sigh* figures. I didn't think twice about Densos not being OEM and now I'm wondering if they are Densos at all.

I'd be happy with Denso wires honestly, so I guess now it's just determining if they are real or not.

Something everyone should be aware of, is that there are A LOT of counterfeit automotive parts out there. I would stick to buying from an established brick and mortar store, or at least stick with reputable online sellers.

Anonymous online sellers I would stay away from.

^^I've fallen victim to fake Keihin carburetors for my motorbikes before and was aware of that, however I was hoping/thinking that a 20,000+ feedback seller wouldn't care to do something like that.

Maybe they are Densos, hell, I don't know at this point. I almost want to go buy some new real Densos just to compare.
