Good for you. More training is always better, and don't go anywhere with the .45 that you wouldn't go without it.

Florida may be 2nd in violent crime but its 24 in deaths by gun thanks to 10 20 life, 10 years just for pulling it ("with criminal intent" that is)

Hey Guys, I'm a Florida resident with a CCW. Your choice to carry reflects on your own personal experiences. If I had never been a victim of a crime or knew someone who had been victimized by another, my opinion would definitely be different. I grew up with a single mother who carried. Her father, my grandfather was a WWII veteran and a gunsmith, so I grew up around guns and shooting. Safety was always strongly emphasized. I carry for safety not out of fear. I might not be here today if I had not made the decision to get my CCW. I was leaving work one night, I got to my car where I was met by two individuals with knives demanding my money and keys. I pulled my weapon and all I saw were axxholes and elbows. I never fired a shot but it was enough to deter my would-be attackers. This situation could have gone down so many ways but after mulling this over and over, I feel like I did the right thing. You do have to live with your decisions.

It will be interesting to see. They could ask for an en banc hearing at the appellate level, or they could appeal to SCOTUS. SCOTUS might actually consider the case if it is appealed to them, as other districts have made opposite restrictions.
But I suspect there might be pressure from anti-gun people to not appeal, because if they do, I think SCOTUS is likely to decide in our favor. Interesting times.

I lost all faith in the SCOTUS when they ruled Obamacare legal.
The Heller and MacDonald decisions have gone our way, although only 5-4. If Obama gets to appoint a SCOTUS judge to replace one of the conservatives on the bench, then we'll be screwed.
The Obamacare isn't the first they got wrong. Citizen's United wasn't a great decision either.

I assume that you actually mean the reverse, that you carry a .357 Mag handgun with .38 Special rounds. Because if you actually use .357 Mag rounds in a handgun designed solely for .38 Special, then bad things will happen.
A .357 handgun can fire .357 Mag and .38 Spcl rounds. But the .38 Spcl handgun can only shoot .38 Spcl.
(Well, to be precise, you can also shoot .38 Short Colt in .38 Special and .357, but .38 Short Colt is a rare round.)

Hahaha.. Yeah, my bad.. you're right. I had just woke up and started typing while having my morning coffee before work. I have an, EAA Windicator .357 RemMag 2". I shoot 357 mags and .38 special rounds out of it. ALSO, I have a 38 special that of course only shoot's .38's! GOOD EYE, buddy! :thumb:
Couldn't be more pleased with the either. Great for carry and conceal. Very accurate for having such'a short barrel (wanna get the 4" model soon). Medium weight, packs a punch!

Totally agree. I own a few S&W myself. I just wanted something cheaper to carry in the truck.
Ever heard of "Cobra Firearms"? Thinking about ordering the "shadow" model to replace the gun i carry in the truck.

No, I haven't heard of them. I try not to leave guns in my truck and I try not to depend upon guns of questionable quality.

WHAT….? i didn't say i leave gun's in my truck. i do carry gun's in my truck though, always have. let me rephrase it for you. I have a carry and conceal license, i've been a gun owner and user since a child. I'm from the south, we pride ourselves on that kind of stuff. I ain't no city boy. I carry a firearm with me everywhere i go, in my truck and on me as a person. I carry my firearms inside with me at night into the house. i DO leave my shotgun in my truck a lot, so shame on me. I live on a 300 acre cattle farm. I don't think anybody is gonna bother it. i also never implied i was going to purchase a firearm of "questionable quality". I said i was trying to find something to replace what i do carry as of now. i have heard nothing but good things about the small american made company. just thought i'd ask if you had heard of them since you busted my balls about my getting the whole .38 and .357 screwy and seem to be a know it all. I was nice and even thanked you for catching my mistake (which is rare for me to do). BUT, i asked a simple question this last time. i sure didn't ask for any smart ass input on my post's. I might be new to this forum, but i don't need or won't take any grief from you. should'a known what to expect from a yankee. Thank you, Capt. S&W.

If you see me, then I'm armed. Whether I'm at home or at the grocery store or walking out to check the mail. I'm not scared, just prepared. I'm fortunate enough to live in a nice neighborhood, and I can tell you one thing for sure- the scum go where the money is. My last neighborhood I remember one time in nine years that there was a burglary. In the two years I've lived here between my neighbors and I the police have been involved eight times. That's my immediate neighbors. Who knows exactly how many times between all the people going down the hill either way. I live in a nice town in the Midwest where you wouldn't expect to have to deal with this crap, but parents refuse to spank their kids anymore so I fully expect to be called upon to dispatch the world of one or more of them at some point. My wife and I train constantly though, so if/when that time comes this beautiful little bundle of joy I'm holding as I type this will not have to worry because all of our shots will count. For those of you that think it is pointless- that's ok. You try and talk them down, and if that doesn't work I'll back you up.
