In hand to hand combat a Blade can be a formidable weapon provided you know how to use it properly- I use them to cut steak and I try not to cut myself in the process.

If you LET a properly trained martial artist get close enough(which is a bad idea to begin with) I don't care what you are carrying the situation can go from having the upper hand to wishing that you never decided to mess with that person to begin with.

There should be an option for sometimes carry, I voted yes. I don't always carry as it would have to be unloaded and locked in order for it to be legal where I'm from. CCWs are pretty much non-existent.

Sounds almost like NY.... at least we can get away with to and from the range without any of that locked box nonsense. A lot of the time I do carry that way if I am taking more than One Handgun to the range.

I have a buddy who lives out your way in Santa Barbara. I've never asked him... is it the same way up there?

In CA, licenses are issued by the sheriff. Some treat it as almost shall issue. Many don't. They seem to be more restrictive in the more populous, liberal areas.

Yes, I carry. I carry everywhere I legally can. Car, woods, shopping, hiking, etc. There is a gun on my hip.

Yep, I appendix carry a Glock 19 just about every day. Just part of my routine. Keys, wallet, phone, pistol, knife. Like you said luckily CHP's aren't hard to get in LA.

I have had my CHL for 3 years now and have been concealed carrying just as long. I have seen "big city" crimes slowly move into and beyond my neighborhood and will not be a victim because I left my pistol at home. I carry my Springfield XDm 45 and have 3 mags in the door ready to go. If it is good enough for Baghdad it is good enough for my home too.

Concealed Carry holder, and I always travel with my Glock 23, and usually a shotgun or an AR15 in the back as well if I am on an extended trip (where legal of course).

I keep a .40 in each vehicle.

I travel a lot though, and it's tough to keep up with the legal requirements in all the different states I go through. In FL having it in a zippered case is enough, but other places require it to be unloaded or in a locked case. I generally just keep it out of sight and separate from my registration and insurance paperwork and avoid it even becoming a topic of conversation if I get pulled over.
