do you routinely check your nuts and bolts after you come off the trails?

Always checking them is a good idea. However, I found that if you out a dab of blue Lock-Tite or silicone(does the same thing), you have a very low chance of those bolts coming loose.

On bolts that are seeing constant vibration and movement, this is definitely a good idea. Lower ball joints, upper ball joints, the four bolts that hold the lower control arm to the spindle.

Honestly, if you torque them to the correct specs, the chances of them coming loose are slim to none, unless you just installed something and it needs to settle. Then, checking them would be necessary.

Add some BLUE(that way you can still get them off if needed, he red will never let go) Lock-Tite or silicone and you'll be good to go.

I definitely check after I do a hard wheeling trip. After my first trip, which was my first hard trip since I installed my lift, I started getting some ugly sounds coming from down below and I figured out the top of my rear shock (the nut) had come loose and was rattling. So I'm down there tightening and lo and behold what do I see? One of my rear UCAs was about to kick its bolt and run free. Like stated above I added some blue loctite and I have no problems now.

Crazy! I've had my 4Runner for a little over 5 years now. When I bought it she had 60,000 miles on it. Maybe a month or two after owning it, I started to notice a squeak from the suspension. I don't really do any hard wheeling so I just thought it was a Toyota thing. Well, it started getting worse so I took it back to the dealer. They discovered that one of the rear LCA bolts had come out. They replaced it...no biggie. Fast forward to 5 years later, I started hearing a tapping while going over speed bumps. I thought at first it might be one of my rear shocks because they are still the original factory shocks but they seemed tight. Well, I took it in for it's oil change and told my SA about it. Turns out, one of the UCA bolts had fallen out. They replaced it. Everything is back to normal...no odd bangs or bumps. He did tell me that my rear sway bar bushings were on there way out...guess that is next!

I've never checked anything under my truck after wheeling it. On top of that, i drive an hour and a half to the ORV park, while doing 80mph most of the way. I should probably start checking things, lol.

After I had an LBJ failure due to the bolts backing themselves out, or shearing off. I now crawl under and check all the critical bolts after even the easiest of off roading.
