Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

No, those I just listed are not offset, so not ideal for KDSS unless you are using a spacer on the front. If you use a 5mm spacer on the front right side, you don't need offset rear coils, you can use even coils. Also vice versa, if you use offset rear coils, you can use even front coils.

Rear Coil Options, with KDSS.
Our KDSS coils are 15mm taller on one side to go onto the US passenger side (right side) to compensate for vehicle lean
C59-723 - Stock rear end, 1.25" lift, offset height coils for KDSS leveling. 420/405mm, 17mm wire, 228LB
C59-725 - Stock rear end, 1.75" lift with 3rd row, 2" without, offset height coils for KDSS leveling (similar to C59-325). 430/415mm, 17mm wire, 228LB
C59-727 - 200-400LB heavy rear load weight, 2" lift, offset height coils (similar to C59-327). 430/415mm, 18mm wire, 271LB
C59-729 - 600-800LB super ridiculous heavy rear load weight, 2" lift, offset height coils (similar to C59-329). 430/415mm, 19mm wire, 333LB


The lowest height KDSS coils is the C59-723.

Is the vehicle lean different from year to year? Or generally in the same range?

Hey guys, we're back to fully stocked again. Been shipping out a lot of suspension to you all this week, including the new C59-505 rear lower height coils.

And after our weekend at Overland Expo last week, it looks like we will be bringing in and stocking our MRR (Monotube Remote Reservoir) shocks for the 5th Gen's. First in the 700/701 lengths, then hopefully later in the long travel 574/575 lengths. We had tons of great feedback, and even picked up a few dealers who are excited to offer them.

Oh, and front UCA update: Hopefully in August we will be receiving our first stock of them for the states. They will be a ball joint style. Here soon we should have our pricing nailed down for those, so then we can offer the full suspension kit for more complete package.

I agree with [MENTION=140851]Vinsil[/MENTION]. My wife is on 265s on her LE, and I'm on 275s on my 4th gen. We're both lifted, and neither of us are happy with the way our tires look, haha. She want's 33s and I want 34s! Both are still more than capable, we just like the look

Nice bro! I was debating on putting the Toytec 2" for a while. Since I put SSO bumper and wrinch, I've lost .25". But I just recently purchased RRT and awning. I hope it will level out if I put the 2" Toytec.

Not sure if you've done this or not, but having gone through numerous iterations of suspension on different vehicles I'd recommend weighing your gear and added vehicle weight to determine what kind of loaded/unloaded weight you're carrying. This will help vendors get you the correct coil for your build.

Just to make sure I'm understating this correctly, these pictures are showing your truck with effectively about 3.25-3.5" of lift? Or am I adding numbers when I shouldn't be...

Sorry, I just now saw this.

18mm shaft on the 50mm pistons, and 22mm shaft on the 60mm pistons.

So the 4runner front struts are 50mm pistons, due to the limitations on the body size without going to a bigger ID coil spring.

I struck up a conversation with the guys at the Dobinsons booth at Overland Expo West and talked to them about some rear springs. I had the Metal Tech long Travel HD springs, but they just were not holding up to all the weight, even unloaded, that my 4Runner was carrying. I went back and forth with Mike trying to decide on the right spring to carry the added weight and have the flex for the long travel rear. After some time, Mike suggested that the C59-677V should be what I need. I ordered directly through Dobinsons and they arrived quickly. Just got the new springs installed last week and tested them out yesterday.

Overall, I am very happy, the MT springs would bottom out and I would be hitting the bump stops just going down the road unloaded. The new springs were much more firm and I never hit the bump stops going down the road. They even carried some additional weight and a utility trailer (empty) with no issues. Offroad, they worked awesome. They flexed well.

Comparison of the Metal Tech HD to the Dobinsons. Same number of coils but different spacing. The Dobinsons look like they are designed for the heavier load.

Looking at doing a small lift of 1". Was thinking 6112/5100 or 5100 with the low lift Robinson springs for non kdss. How would the Dobinson springs pair with 5100's up front and 5100's rear with stock springs?

Any chance the springs will be offered in a normal color? Like black? I would never put turquoise springs on my 4runner. Yet Dobinsons has a great selection. I am sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. If black springs were on hand I am sure they would sell.

That question was asked and answered on page 1 of this thread. And again on page 2. And again on page 3, etc. The answer was no. It's a shame too. I went with Wheelers coils over these because they were a normal color. The Wheelers coils are fine but I would have preferred the Dobinsons as there are many more options available.

They've been selling really well actually.

I can start a group buy and order them in one of 5 colors, but they all have to be the same and the same part number, which isn't very likely to happen. Stocking a large variety of different part numbers is hard enough, but adding multiple colors isn't really an option.

If people come together on 1 front coil and 1 rear coil option that 20 people want to sign up for, I can make it happen, but it doesn't seem likely. And I've posted this option a couple of times already this year to no avail.

Lots of people down here in the south custom powdercoat their gear, but I'm not sure what kind of price that costs.

Plus they can be spray painted for $4.

Sorry about the color, but it's a trademark for our brand, just how other brands have their specific colors.

A bunch of people in the earlier posts are running those 5100 shocks front and rear with our coils. The 6112 is a bigger size from memory.

You can run the C59-238 up front for low height lift, and with the C59-599 rear coils, or keep the rears stock. That's the lowest we go on these trucks.

Looks aren't everything but I appreciate the branding of a company and they offer a huge selection and great service!
