Project cancelled, only making 1" lift height coils. No HD or any other variants.

Mind informing me if there was enough down travel? I’m considering a 3/4” Cornfed spacer in combination with my 1” lift coils. However, I don’t want to blow the struts (just had them warrantied) if the 2” coils over-extended them when you were testing.

Just installed my 300/599 comb. Neglected measurements, but came out about like I expected. Shrockworks front bumper going on in early 2019 and will update then.

Why were they warrantied already?

We didn't get that far to check the down travel. I don't think the struts are strong enough to handle the extra lift.

I love the look and stance. That’s the lift springs I’m going with once the current tires wear down. Did you have to add UCAs?

Why were they warrantied already?

We didn't get that far to check the down travel. I don't think the struts are strong enough to handle the extra lift.

It has 58k miles. I took it in as it had a clunk. The dealer submitted for a Goodwill and Toyota agreed to pay for the parts. I covered labor and got free struts. It had been making the noise since I bought it used, prior to the 1” front lift spring install.

Thanks for the info on the struts. I’ll likely stick with just the 1” lift springs then.

Do I have to do UCAs???

Installed all the below + Toytec 1/4” spacers. Alignment came out good!

I am debating switching out my 300 coils for 302s... but my budget won't let me do UCAs too. Would it be okay to run that? I'd hate to go to 1/2" spacers. I want to replace the springs and remove the spacers all together...

Yes, you can run C59-302 on the GS59-700 struts for ~2.5" lift and not need the UCA's.

I agree. UCA's at that height help the ride quality a lot and the alignment can get dialed in really nicely.

Definitely something people should keep on their want list, if they're running 2.5" lift with stock UCA's, then when they add them, they'll feel the ride improvement.

Just installed a Dobinson Mild 1" lift.

The photo on the Right is the before and the Left is after (see date Stamped on photo).

My combination is below
C59-238 springs with GS59-700 struts.on the front
C59-599 springs with GS-705 shocks on the rear.
If I didn't tell you that it was lifted you probably won't notice, My wife didn't till she had to get into the truck. She is short but didn't have a problem. I was worried I would have to get sliders.

My intent with this lift was to get rid of the nose dive and get a better ride quality, I did, the waddle is gone, Nose Dive is substantially less, Its feels more truck like and doesn't look like a station wagon.

I will remove the SR5 rockers that came with the truck and order the rockers from the trail edition. picking up some clearance along with the" Antman Mod" and remove the air-dam under the front bumper. this should solve some other clearance issues.
I don't want larger tires, I'm more concerned with garage door clearances and gas mileage. The truck spends more time and miles just getting to where I like to go. My off roading is not extreme. those days are gone.

I went to a couple of garages to get bids on the install. The guy at the frame and suspension shop looked at the 4runner like it was a UFO. he took his install price from the toyota installation shop manual.basically what the dealer would charge.
The other shop asked all the right question, "what model is it, does it have KDSS or Xreas.(my truck has neither) with that I felt they had done this before. They were a Hundred dollars less then the frame shop.
Very happy with the way it turned out, just what I was looking for.

I want to thank Mike at Dobinson for the great customer service especially during the Thanksgiving holiday.


Before the lift I had
19 3/4" left Front .......21" left Rear
19 3/4" right front ......21 1/2" right rear
1/2" lean in the rear only, that was with a full gas tank
After the install
21 1/2" left front......... 22 1/2" left rear
21 1/2" right front .......23 right rear
Measurements taken from center of hub to fender.

UpDate: 1/15/2019 After 800 miles, Both front settled 1/4" to 21-1/4" Rear is the same as before 22 1/2" & 23. PERFECT Rides great handles a whole lot better than stock.

UpDate 9/01/2021 two years later Left front is 21" Left rear is 22 1/4" still rides and handles great I will continue to monitor this but I don't expect any more settling .

Excuse the poor photo quality in the older photo but what I was looking for is a comparison between the Tire to Fender ratio and this photo is the only one I found that shows the tires better in that lighting.

Glad it worked out well. Short wives seem to be the ultimate lift height measurement on this forum, I've had a few good laughs from guys talking about their complaining short wives. Had one guy "need" to reduce height at her request actually!!

That looks like it'd be exactly what I want when the time comes to upgrade suspension, however there are multiple combos/options on that page.
