Dobinsons Long travel front struts and rear shocks

Hey guys, our 3" variable rate rear coils are due to arrive here this week. They're the coils to match up with these long travel shocks.

The full range of coils front and rear and struts/shocks are now here in stock. A few have shipped out this week, so I'll post up links to reviews and photos on here when I get them in a week or two.

They're a variable rate, but we don't share that information. The linear rate coils vary from 220 to 275 to 285 LB/FT, depending on part number.

We have quite a few different options for rear coils though, so it depends on what you need.

What spring would you suggest for a semi mild overland rig, with a bumper and winch on the front that sees loads in the back but not at all times?

What lift height do you want on the front? And it depends on the back, but definitely the Variable rate coils would be best if you load it occasionally but still want it to ride great around the street.

You will see in the application guide all of the options listed and their lift height.

...Then what would make me want to run your springs if you don't give us that information? That doesn't make any sense. Why are you looking at options if you already have progressive coils? What's the problem what you have now, and what coils are you running so I can go look up the specs for them?

Because maybe I'm trying to switch spring rates? There's no problem with what I have now. I can't tell you what springs I run. I'm just surprised that you wouldn't give information on the springs. Again, it's how we all figure out what we need to run, by seeing the ratings lol.

Oh great thank you. I'm going to give you a call here next week and pick your brain further. Would love to be at 3" in the front and level. I don't have the bumper/winch just yet. I will get TC UCAs so the height should be ok. The progressive springs are a nice option too. I appreciate the help so far.

Could you post some pictures of the truck NOT flexing? Id like to see the static 3" lift, especially how the back sits relative to the front.

Here's one right after we put the new tires on last summer, and the front coils, but these were the heavy load 3" coils, so we were at 3.5" here. After we put the bumper on, it came back down. That's the closest I have to a level photo.

The camping photo is with the 3" variable rate front coils, but that's the only good shot I got of it that weekend.

I'll grab some more shortly, we're changing the wheels on it right now.

Thanks man, looks good. Are the 3" variable coils going to be available to the public soon, or are they aleady and I missed it? I think i read somewhere there was an issue so you were focusing on other matters for a while. :frog:

Yeah, we're not going to be doing the front variable rate right now. We might look at it in the future, perhaps with a tapered coil on an adjustable height strut, but for now we're staying with linear coils on the front. The rear variable rates just came into stock this week, so for everything we're currently going to offer, it's here in stock now.

Here's a side by side of the longer vs standard 2" length struts. I tried to get the straightest photo to show how the coil seat is 10mm taller on the 574 strut.

285/65R18 on the 4runner. They're very close and do rub on flex.
