also as a preventative measure, i always turn my ac off a mile or so before i reach my destination and turn up the fan with fresh air. this helps dry any water in the system before parking the car.
If anyone's vehicle has a 'mildew' smell to it there is something WRONG.
No one should have to shut off the A/C a mile before to Prevent mildew - (though it is being nice the system to let it cool down some).
Figure out why your drain isn't draining completely and you'll get rid of the mildew smell. No different than a home A/C, you wouldn't put up with mildew smell! Even in super humid Houston, we don't get mildew from the humidity in A/C systems. :cowboy:
No, there is no cabin air filter. Parts stores sell an A/C duct deodorizer that you spray in through the cowl with the fan on high. Air conditioners remove moisture from the air so the ducts should not be damp inside after running for a while. Water condenses in the evaporator core and should drain out. Check you evaporator drain and check for mouse nests also.
