Does it matter to change T4R V-6 spark plugs while they are hot or cold?
1. Cold or room temp is my preference (while changing @ 35,000 per warranty is a question this day & time).
2. I have read in and out at the same temp (hot or cold).
3. It seems hot is a negative due possible aluminum block damage or burns to the body.
4. I can remember on 1968 & 70 VWs they would hang a fan at the Deals to help cool them to get you out faster. I feel that was more related to solid lifter/valve adjustments (every 3,000 or 6,000 mi per warranty) vs plugs.
5. If anti-seize is used per change, plugs are hand started, I’m not following why out/in matters (with a fan helping you if needed).
6. Are the Haynes Manuals good ref info and step-by-step info on the T4R?
jow
