Does the 03-05 4Runner have a glove box light?

I went to replace mine (2005 sport).
Didn't work. Got the socket out and I get no voltage on the harness at all, ACC, lights on etc.
Fuses seem ok.
The light that was there was definitely burned out, so at least at some point the juice was getting to it.
Any ideas?

Ok, you can access those bulbs in the hole before the secret compartment. Just feel it with your finger and unsnap the lock.

LOL! I've never had mine work so after seeing this thread I grabbed a needlenose and tried to pop off the cover. Oops! Going back I see this reference to unsnapping the lock. :tape2:

Yes, the 03-05 4Runner does have a glove box light. My 2003 glove box light bulb is still on the original bulb.

I futzed with mine for about 45 minutes last night. It took me a while, but I finally managed to get that "cage" thing off enough that I could touch the burnt out bulb, but how the heck do I extract it? Trying to fit my fingers in there is like trying to shove 2 hams in a 1 gallon paint bucket..

owned ours since 2007, and just discovered this exists! pulled the bulb, and was black and burned out. will try to get a replacement. are there LED options?

I found it quite frustrating that once you unsnap it, it's too big to fit down through the access hole, so you pretty much have to bend it all out of shape to get it down. Then you can change the bulb out.

I'm also frustrated that the light only comes on if the headlights are on. Seriously, if they can put a switch on the moon roof air dam to lower it at a certain speed and raise it at another, would it have been that hard to add a switch to the glove box to turn the freaking light off if the glove box is closed?

I just replaced my burnt out bulb with an LED. Here's a link to the one I used and it works perfectly. Small and bright.

Doin' the interior LEDs on my '08 today and really appreciate these related threads. As I've said before, it's the little things that can drive ya nuts. For an overeducated dumbass like myself, threads with pics are a big help.
