There are 2, 1 is for the ECU the other is for the temp gauge.

Round connecter is for the temp gauge. The more rectangular one is for the ECU.

Is the temperature gauge always used? I can't a plug anywhere that goes to to it. There is a guage on the dash but wondering if it gets info from the ecu

My 2003 has the same sensor but there is no plug in the harness for it. So in this case, Toyota used the sensor just to plug the hole. The temp gauge on your dash is sharing the information with the ECU from the larger sensor.

Thank you! I’m hoping that is what I have going on too.

Been a bad day broke off a few valve cover bolts trying to remove them. Leaking covers and the visible ones on the bottoms broke. I’m thinking someone cranked them down to try to get the leaking to stop. Could have almost taken out the top bolts with my fingers
