Does the 5th Gen. cat-back exhaust fit the 4th Gen?

Definitive answer desired. looking for an OE take off replacement. probably a lot fewer 4th gen. exhausts sitting around someones garage vs. 5th gen. this is for the V6 engine.

I think I remember seeing someone post that it does but requires slight modification to one of the hangers.

Yes I did it. Hanger does need to be slightly bent, nothing too bad.

so, which hanger needs to be modified? are all years eligible?

Can't remember, but it was quite simple, it was near the rear of the truck. I did this a few years ago. Dude upgraded to a trd system and my muffler had a hole.

I bought it from his warehouse and never saw his truck nor asked. I actually did it blindly thinking all our trucks from 03 to 19 were the same.

Just did this monday, I did not have to bend any hanger. It looks like maybe the tail pipe comes close to where it goes over the rear axle but I haven't heard any banging or rattling.

the trickle of responses is positive so far. i just found a new 2021 cat-back take-off that i purchased for $50. i do have a small leak at the cat-muffler joint. hopefully it will clean up and mate well. this will be a much superior option than a most lower cost aftermarket exhausts. i believe the OE is stainless steel?

maybe got lucky. picked up a new used cat back takeoff from a 2021 4runner with 1500 miles (PO replaced with a TRD system). we'll see how it works out.
