Does the ignition key get warm?

I noticed my key was warm today when I removed it. I have no idea if this is normal since but I remember on older cars that it was a sign that the switch was going bad. Is replacing the ignition switch easy/difficult or is this normal.

I don't know if it is easy to change or not, but I can tell you it is not a common problem. I have never heard it discussed on this fourm.
