Friends dog jumped on my drivers side door and left 6 scratches in paint. Any advise on how to fix???

Unless this dog is a lot bigger then I think, and your "friend" sharpens it's nails, I suspect your clear coat got scuffed, vs the paint being scratched. Thus, it should buff out fairly easily. If I am wrong, it's body shop time.

I use scratch x all the time. Works great with some good old fashioned elbow grease.

Although a clay pad is good for removing fine contaminants from hoods, body panels, etc., it is not abrasive enough to remove scratches or swirls from clearcoat. Also, if you try the clay, use a detailer spray along with it to help the clay glide/lubricate the surface.

My friend's dog recently jumped up on his neighbor's Ferrari 360 Modena.
He calls me in a panic. Will that buff out?
Apparently most of it came off, but neighborhood relations soured.
Another buddy's dog did this with a one week old Lexus RX 350 I brought to his house.
DaveS is right. Comes down to poor training by the dog-owner. No dog should be allowed to jump up on people or property unless ordered to.

Maybe try this with your friends head instead. It is after all his fault for failing to properly train his dog.

In every man's(or woman) toolbox for repairing scratches should be a Porter Cable Random Orbital polisher.
Then go to Griot's Garage and order Machine Polish #1, #2 and #3. These are various 'grit' types of polish, and will buff ANYTHING out that is a scratch in the clear coat.
If the scratch is into the paint, then you'll need to touch it up, several layers, then use the Porter Cable and polish. :artist2:
I've fixed many many scratches in my lifetime, and this is truly the only way to go.
Scratch-X is okay for very minor scratches, but in 99% of the cases, I've used the faithful Porter Cable.
