Dog seat covers? Any recommendations?

Anybody using a seat cover to protect your seats from your dogs nails?? I have searched online and there are tons of products on the market. Do you have any personal experience and a product that you like/ use?? I have a staffordshire bull terrier pup. He will be a 40lb dog when he is full grown, and I would like to get something for my 4runner's seat front and poss rear bench.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I use an old blanket with my 50 lb dog. Works just fine.

Maybe packing blankets like the ones U-Haul sells? We've got (inherited) 7 or 8 of them and find ourselves using them for everything. They're pretty durable.

I have the laziest Coon dog known to mankind. Two years old and lazy which is fine as I had an Australian Shepard for the last 17 years. Any thick blanket lol.

:iagree: a thick moving blanket in the back (rear seats down) keeps things contained. i also have a Canine Covers thick twill cover over the folded-forward seat-bottoms which keeps them clean, as well.

there are lots of options if you want to get fancy with custom covers. someone posted some Carhartt semi-custom front and rear covers by CoverCraft recently which looked pretty decent. i've been happy with Wet Okoles in the past, but the water-resistant fabric on the Trail is pretty sturdy and i don't feel the need (except for the back).

your pup will love the truck. remember that old Nissan ad campaign, "dogs love trucks!"

Kurgo Cargo Cape. It is not a perfect fit, but for $50 bucks, it works great.

Canvasback Cargo Liner. $150ish bucks, but custom to your year/make/model of vehicle. Very nice, but again, 3x the money from Kurgo.

Both are waterproof, and hose off very easily. They have velcro to stay with in place. I would suggest both, it is more of a personal choice about money and options.

I have a somewhat aggressive 80lb lab that I take when I go hunting, and I've just been putting a towel over the seats, its been doing pretty good, so I'd imagine the same would work fine with yours. But if you have to have a seat cover, you could probably get something off ebay or autoanything.
