Dome light and stereo stopped working

I was installing a Cobra 18 WX ST ii into my dash and during the process I don't know if I hit something or what but now my dome light, my power locks, and my stereo won't work. Does anyone know what this could be? I'm super confused and I have my whole dash taken apart trying to see if I knocked something out of place please help asap!!!

Probably a fuse. Check out it out under the hood.

If I remember right the dome light and stereo were on the same fuse in the older pickups, might be the same in the 4runner.

Likely a fuse like already said. I would check under the dash first before the hood.

Has anyone thought about checking the fuse yet? Seems like that would be the likely culprit.

It is the dome fuse in the engine bay. Replace and everything should work again. That fuse does alot. The radio dome lights and also all the door switches.

Damn, under the hood?? Most cars have them under the dash.

Well i know thats where mine is. There are 2 fuse blocks in our trucks in the truck under drivers side and one in engine bay. The dome fuse should be in the engine bay atleast thats where mine is. I had this same problem awhile back.

There are two location in our trucks for fuses. One box is near the battery under the hood and the other is in our truck located to the lower left of our steering wheel.
It would be the DOME fuse or ACCESSORY. Something of the sort. I am not near my truck right now.

I have had the same issue I have replaced the fuses and its still not working. Any suggestions?

When I pull the Dome fuse, I loose power to the radio and Dome light. If you are 100% sure the fuse is good and both your radio and dome have no power. I would do a continuity check on all wires in that circuit. A factory service manual electrical diagram will show you what's all connected to that circuit and what the color the wires are.

I weirdly had a similar issue. Turns out it was corrosion on the battery/ground terminals. It just so happened by coincidence that I was messing with the electronics on my car alarm the day before, so I spend a whole whack of time trying to diagnose that assuming that was where the problem was.

Tracing circuits is extremely time consuming. Last week I spent 8 hours fixing a grasshopper mower electric pto circuit that wouldn't function. The fuse never blew yet the hot wire to the electric clutch was shorted to ground. I had continuity on the wire and to ground. I ran a new wire to resolve that issue and the mower is still working...:]

So yes a wire can not be broken and insulation gone etc and even in rare cases even shorted to ground and the fuse not blow. I hope my tips help. Solving circuit issues. :]
