I just got this used 2006 4runner, and it has some problems which I think are related.
1) The "Lock" button on the remote does not work. "Unlock" and "Rear window open" both work fine.
2) When the dome light is in the "DOOR" position, it does not come on with open doors. Same with the rear hatch light. In the meantime, both of these lights work when in "ON" position.
3) There appears to be a Clifford alarm installed. I don't know if it's factory or aftermarket. There is a black box under the hood, and a little red light on the dash saying CLIFFORD above it. I do not have a remote for the Clifford, don't know if there is supposed to be one.
My guess is that alarm was not properly installed, which disabled the lock button on the remote and the dome lights.
Any thoughts?
