Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about everyone's first T4R ride, but I'd like to hear about your OTHER 1st ride....

So, I'll go first....

My first car was supposed to be a mid-70's camaro with T tops, bright orange. It was SWEET, I got to drive it a couple times, but... well... it was sold/turned over... to someone else... BUMMER!!

So! What was my first ride?

A '74 Super Beetle 1600cc w/ sunroof! AWESOME!!! Only, I had to spend about 2g's to 'tune up' and replace some parts for a long trip to WYO for Tech school.. blah blah blah

OK, so there you have it!

I'm totally interested in YOUR stories....

My first car was a 1979 Saab 900. It had a small four-cylinder engine, two doors, and no headliner. I loved that car. I'm hoping that, once I win the lottery (that I never buy tickets for), I can someday buy another mid-70s Saab.

My first car was a 93 ford mustang. It had a 4 cylinder engine and had zero power. The exhaust was busted so a lot of people thought it had a v8. I treated the car like crap and drove the hell out of it but it never let me down.

I dreamed of swapping in the turbo engine from the svo mustang. I forget which years from the fox body had them but ford used a 4cyl turbo in a handful of their fox body mustangs.

Oh, my other 'first car' possibility was a '68 Mustang coup, 289, canary yellow...

Don't ask why.... I had family issues....

First Ride...

1982 F-150 short bed.

460 Big Block punched 40 over. Flat top Pistons with 12:1 Compression, 429 Cobra Jet heads ported and polished,750 carb, Bigger Cam, Built C6 Trans, 9in read end with 4:55 gears and other stuff.. I never told my parents what I really did to it other than a new motor, LOL. You can guess what this 16 year old spent his money on. I prided my self on beating the crap out of Z28's, 5.0 slows, and the Mit VR4's back in the day, took several Vet's. I got my A#$ handed to me finally by a Black 93/94 Turbo Supra.

That's just it!! My first was a hoopti, and I miss it too!!!

That's what prompted me......

I feel your pain! :hug:

My VW sat in my driveway for a year, 'waiting' for me to fix it, and I ended up selling it for CHEAP! The pain lingers...........:sad:

Dad bought it in 91

It was the project truck at my Tech school. So when I didn't drive it home I just told them it was getting worked out at school. Between the Tech shop, the machine shop for the gear drive set up, and me welding all drive line and cross members it came out pretty clean. It was a sleeper for the most part until I romped on it. The gear drive gave it away if someone knew what they were listening for.
