Door handle part number?

My drivers side door handle stop working from the outside. I popped the cover off and there is a small bar that runs vertically and a larger horizontal one for the interior handle. The larger horizontal one is fine. On the small bar where it clips to the door handle the plastic fitting busted off. I can't find the pieces to even machine one like it. Is there a place online to buy one and what is this part even called? I tried some searching but nothing came up.

found something called a door lock clip that looks right but it is for a newer vehicle.

Not worth the time fabricating one. Dealer sells the clips for less than $10 a piece. You may also get lucky and find a set of several pieces on ebay, but that would cost you more time trying to see if the set fits and money to return if it doesn't.

Therefore, i just bought mine from the dealer. Easy to re-install. Please see my post to see if it's the correct part. (Driver-side maybe mirror-image of passenger side. (here).

so do you need a handle or the lock mechanism? first gen runner #`s
out side handle # is 69220-89108 black.69220-89109 chrome

if you need lock assy.....87-89 4 runner sr5 is 69320-89116 for electric locks or
69320-89112 for manual locks, but you should check with the dealer because there is more than one lock assy for the first gen . they would need your VIN # to get you the correct one
