door sill enhancements - worth it?

are the door sill enhancements worth it, or just for show? Do they really do anything at all or just a waste of money?

Now i thought my plastics have a section that go over my door sills so I don't see how those will mount. I'll have to double check at home cause i relly like the looks of those.

I usually do not buy anything that mounts with double sided tape, but I got to admit that sill looks great.

probably, but it isn't necesary. If you think about it, you don't really step on the door sill anyways. the 3M tape holds very well. It is the same stuff holding my vent visors to my truck and they get much worse treatment than the door sills.

Some 4runner doors have a plastic section there, and these still fit great and would go right over that area. I can email you pictures of this also, send me an email from my Signature and I'll show you the pics on 4runners with that plastic part.

I have had Jason B's Door Sills on for some time now and love them. They look great and are extreamely easy to maintain. A quick swipe with some detailer spray wax every now and then and they look like new.

In my case these Sills covered up some minor scratches caused by the previous owner. I don't step there but some people do and that causes chips and scratches.

As far as the install...Nothing is more simple. Less than 10 minutes. I actually prefer the tape vs. screws living in and area of highly salted roads in the winter.

I wish they made them for the rear doors. I know there are issues with a weld seam there but at least in my case with the 02 it's far enough forward that the rear doors could still be done.

Either way I highly recommend getting a set of these...It's a great, relatively cheap mod that you will admire every time you open the doors.

I had a set of JDM ones on my Celica that replaced the whole plastics and came with a aluminum strip much like the Burtman overlays do.. They were awesome but cost me about $200.00.

I also have them in my own truck, 96-02 though.

I do love them, and passengers really get a kick outta them when they open the door. The cool thing is you get good looks and function.
