Door Unlock Question (not all that important)

So I'm new to power locks and such on these older Pickups and 4Runners. My 98 4Runner has power locks (obviously) and I've noticed that when I unlock with the key on the passenger side, all the doors unlock. When I use the key on the driver's side, none of them unlock except for the driver's door. Is this normal, or should I be looking into checking wiring/switches/relays for an issue?

unlock the drivers door 2 times, it should unlock everything else.

same with the key fob. typically once for the drivers door, and 2x for all.

its a security feature, so you can keep the rest of the vehicle locked, but the door open if you need to get inside in a hurry, and keep the opposite side of the car secure...

Yeah it's pretty awesome. Also, try locking the truck using the door switch with the door open and your key in the ignition. It'll immediately unlock to help prevent you from locking your keys inside.

Yeah already found that one out I kept a spare in a magnetic box on my Pickup because I have a tendency to lock myself out of things, including a running vehicle...

Thanks for the tips! I just felt sort of silly having to climb in the car to unlock it for my wife when it's supposed to have power locks. Now I know!
