It's not over..... Here is my new Coastal Off Road rear bumper! I've been working on running some new outlets in my garage. I added a 220 outlet to run my welder. Hopefully I will have time to start this build first weekend of February. Pretty excited to get this going and hopeful I can still fit in the garage with the spare tire on the back.
Definitely interested in seeing how the bumper fit and finish and strength goes. Let me know material thickness and how well braced it is. I feel like it will only be a matter of time till a drag the rear plastic off the back. Looking forward to the pics when you start welding up the bumper.

It’s going to be a great weekend. New front bumper just showed up. I’m starting the build on the rear bumper tomorrow. I also was able to order a 5th F5 from SCS in black this week. Ended up staying with F5s. The Ray10s look great but I’m going to hold off.

I did see that filler piece but I really like the OEM bumper with the “gills” still showing around the fog light area. If I had 10-13 model I’d go fuller.

Going to bump back up to 295 or maybe go 305.

Started the Coastal Off Road rear bumper build. Made some great progress. Still a lot of welding, grinding, and painting to do.
My 5th Nitto came yesterday and my 5th F5 will be here Thursday.
I'm enjoying this build process again and looking forward to perfecting this rear bumper and moving to the front, again.

Do you have to lose the factory tow point?

Yes, the factory mount is unbolted. The kit comes with a new one to build. They do not rate it for towing since they cannot guarantee your welding. My dad and I looked at it and compared it to the factory mount. Same steel thickness. Good welds should hold it plenty.
I plan on making a hitch mount on the swing arm so I can mount my bike rack on there and be able to swing it out to open the hatch.

Couple photos of the completed bumper. Still need to work on the OEM bumper trim a bit. I'll have it finished up this weekend. Also going to cut down the rear tire mount about 3.5" to tuck in the lower offset F5. Sticks out a bit far due to the offset and width. Going to mount the high lift jack also. Just need to decide where exactly I am going weld the brackets. Couple ideas.

Here is a photo dump of the build process on the Coastal Off Road rear bumper. This should give everyone a good idea of what is involved. Keep in mind I am no professional welder. No dime stacking or cup walking here. I used my mig welder and like my Dad says, "If you spend more time grindin' than weldin', you ain't-a welder, you're a grinder!'

That's it. I think it's the third roundabout you take a right and go to the end and you'll see where people drive up in there.
