If I have the 16x7 5 star wheels...what disadvantages am I going to have versus buying new rims?
For a 285/70 size tire.... planning on 3" lift + 1" body lift. I don't want to have any rubbing issues whatsoever. Is that even possible?
Just to clarify, do you mean 285/75/16? With 2-3" of lift and 1" body lift, you'll have very minimal rubbing. Trimming is very easy, especially with how little you'll need to do. Wheel spacers do increase the amount of rubbing, and consequently the amount of trimming required. However, the pros of wheel spacers, in my opinion, outweigh the intrinsic safety concerns and wear n' tears that spacers can sometimes bring.
