That's exactly what I run, Inline "y Pipe" sorta thing. luckily it's a 4runner, Tons of space for it regardless

With the V8 it's full time 4x4 so a little water on the tires isn't going to matter. I can launch at full throttle in the pouring rain and not even spin a tire. And for stock a 16.7 is pretty respectable for such a heavy truck. I love my V8 4x4 and will drive it until it (or I) dies.

V8 limited that must be rare. I have considered selling both Tacomas for a v8 t4r. My brother had the earlier body long bed 4 door Tundra with the 4.7 and it rode very well on the two trips to Yosemite.

I think V8 limiteds are probably pretty easy to find, a V8 4R in general is almost a dime a dozen

Well as a drag racer that runs slicks I can tell you by dragging water up the track is not only dangerous for others behind you but will get you some serious confrontations in the pits. Please, please, go around the water box.

What Bayou said. It's a courtesy thing as well as safety.

BTW Bayou, did that wheel stand cost you an oil pan or did you just need to clean your shorts? HEH!

Thanks.

Cost me way more then a pan. It broke oil pan, $2000 custom headers, K-member, custom built crankshaft, shocks, amoung other things. Oh yeah and a pair of underwear. [emoji1787]

OUCH! Fortunately I never had anything in all my years of drag racing, (strip and street) that could pull the front wheels. Did break an engine mount and an axle though. That was at the strip. Broke six axles in my Pontiac and two u-joints. The Comet cost me six sets of spiders, one ring and pinion and a totally destroyed posi unit.HAH!

The pass before that was near perfect. It carried the wheel up about 2 feet and sat down smoothly when I shifted into 2nd gear. Ran a 9.50 on that pass. I knew I could leave a little harder and I short shifted 2nd. I thought about making a suspension adjustment to tighten the front down but the track was cooling off so I didn't think it would hook. Well I was wrong. That's what happens when you are chasing a record I go against better judgment.

ANd yeah, they weren't wetting the box for me most of the time, i didn't think i was dragging too much water up, but thanks for the Heads up on that.

I'll be better next time I promise! not Faster, but more Polite.

So, do you run super gas? I did mostly bracket at Half Moon Bay, grudge night at Fremont and Wednesdays at Sears Point/Infineon/Sanoma Raceway, all in the SF Bay Area. We still call it "The Point". Also hit Sacramento and an 1/8 track near Eugene OR. (trophy in my '66 Comet with a 10.62 HAH!) in the '60's. My quickest car was my '65 Vette 355 small block with the help of Summit Racing. Never broke the 2 second 60 ft time but did a 12.70 with a 0 @ 110 and a tick. Way too many u-joints to break on that thing to get a good launch. So wanted to do 12.6.

Hey, just have fun and ignore the haters (rung what ya brung). Drag racing educate is the most important thing. Looks like it's an NHRA strip, surprised they let you go through the water box. I've done my share of fopars. I hope to bring my 'Runner to our 1/8 mile strip. Didn't bring my Mustang GT 'cause I was afraid of the dreaded 1-2-1 shift. Hang in there bro!

No I was running usually LS specific events. Mostly running the "Stock Cubic Inch NA" class. That was our cheating FU motor [emoji1787]. That was a big bore De-Stroked motor turning about 9K rpms. It measured 346 cubes though. [emoji41] That car was usually 60ft times of 1.2-1.3sec but that was on the back tires. Lol Ford 9" rear with 4.56 gears I believe. Wasn't worried about breaking that!!
