driffter33's Build Thread

Are we gonna mount that thing up on sat or do you still have to finish the bumper?

Well I will probably just get it mounted but not wired up yet I need to be able to take it off and on for the rest of the bumper. Ya know make sure everything is where it needs to be and so when I plate it I can make sure everything will fit and work. Then when the bumper is finish I will have to mount the winch in the bumper then mount the bumper on the truck.

Well now I will be able to continue on the front bumper build!!:surfer:

@ driffter33......sorry to go off topice real quick but what kind of a welder are you using?
thanks. Your home made metal work is killing me and my old days of welding on Nuclear Subs are coming back and telling me to do something.

thanks

I have two both are far from top of the line I will do some quick searches and see if I can find some links. You are close you may have to drop by one day and throw down a couple of beads.

yeah, i am just down from Cal State. It's been a while since I ran a bead but any chance I get to burn some 7018 rod, I'm game. Certainly not as good as I once was, that's why I would like to get me a cheapy mig from like Harbor or even a rod burner to fool around with.

After I run the new setup for a while and make sure I like it. I am guessing you might be interested in my beefy lower control arms. If I go with the links like Brian has?

You know me too well already. Are you changing the shocks for longer ones too?

Sure, I assume they're still in fine condition. Those have the LCA skids welded to them?

One more thing... how did you get your CB antenna tuned? I am looking to buy one and I hear that you must tune them.

Still trying to find a good mounting spot.

Yes theses are the toytec weld on skids.

as for the CB antenna tuning my CB has the built in SWR meter/tuning ability. as for a mounting spot I'm not convinced that there is a good spot without offroad bumpers.
