Drive side Window goes up like a Lambo door

After making a loud cracking noise, the drive side window is going up like a Lambo door. I am sure something guiding the glass is broken or something.
Before opening this up, can someone tell me if this a well known issue and what parts I might need to fix it?

It could be the glass broke (doubt it, as the rest of it most likely would have shattered) or the most probable cause is part of the regulator snapped.

Post pics of your find.

On the bottom of the glass is a metal channel, there are two bearings attached to arms that move back and forth in the channel as the window goes up and down. I'm guessing one of the bearings has broken off the arm, probably the front one.

Looks like a great learning opportunity. Like others have said, you're going to need a new window regulator. Basically another word for "mechanism that makes the window go up and down."

yup.*I was able to replace the regulator for $25 using the same motor. It took less than an hour to complete the work in my garage. Thanks everyone.

I am having the "cracking / pop" issue as well. My window has not started the Lamborghini issue yet though. The window noticeably jumps when the sound occurs.
Where did you get your regulator?

Yup. That's the sign. Most likely the screws holding the bottom scissors have come apart.

Not in my case and I didn't want to open it up to repair again after a quick Band-Aid fix.
