Since I left my first post on this thread I went out and bought the mobile 1 synthetic pink grease, and crawled under the 4runner and pumped grease into the zerks the problem has gone away for now. I still called toyota. We shall see what happens in the future.

Yes, we still need to register it with Toyota, because so far every other quick fix hasn't lasted long.

(BTW: However, I will say that using the Mobile 1 synthetic grease in my trailer hubs sure seems to keep them running cooler - we'll see how well it does when it gets real hot.)
