Searched, but found out their have own 15 amp fuse for each brake light. So I go and look and there's none under the driver side panel. Only a 10 amp tail light fuse. If that one fuse controls both tail lights, then both would not work. My next question is, how the heck do you open the fuse box in under the trunk?

Do you mean under the hood? If so,on the cover the single clip (closest to the firewall side),push the top of the clip in and lift up at the same time. You don't need much force at all. Pretty simple.

One of my brake lights stopped working after a rough offroad trip one time. I changed the bulb and it still didn't work. It ended up being the connector going into the brake light. A little nudge and wiggle on the wire harness and it's worked ever since. Remove the access panel next too the rear hatch on the inside. First remove the bulb and make sure the filament isn't burned out. Replace the bulb, and wiggle the wires around going to the bulb, while someone else is pressing the brake. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Doesn't sound like a fuse problem.

The fuse that you want is the Tail fuse 10A located in the driverside fusebox (near the E-brake). But as you've said... if that fuse were blown, you'd have no brake or side marker lights. Check the bulb itself by removing it from it's socket and look for a broken filament. If that's good, look for evidence of water (condensation) stains or rust on the contacts. If it's wet or dirty, clean it good with WD-40; which will displace any moisture on and around the socket, and then reinstall it. Let us know how you make out. If that's not the problem, we'll check it further for trouble in the circuit.
**Oh btw, to open the Relay/fusebox under the hood, there's a latch (or two) on the frontside that you'll push in while lifting at the same time... it'll come right off.

glad you were able to isolate the trouble! Just a suggestion... you may wanna check that light socket and wiring in the chase; if jiggling those wires cause the light to go on/off intermittently, there's a bad connection in that harness... a proper electrical circuit should never behave that way, ...just my 0.000002 cents. Best!
I only jiggled the connection to the socket. I think the crimping is not all the way in or loose somehow.

Yeah something is causing an intermittent loss of electrical source; could be a dirty light socket as in [MENTION=52568]rjfowler[/MENTION]s case. If that's the cause, I'd clean out the socket and treat it with WD-40 to displace any moisture and prevent corrosion.

10-13 taillight design (wiring) is pretty kooky and obviously prone to this failure. had an issue with mine about a year ago so i cleaned and straightened all contacts which managed to set it right for a while, however, started getting intermittent issues on stop lamp circuit again some time later. chased it for a while before giving up and upgrading to 14+ tails. such a better design; no regrets.
