Driver Side Window Stuck Down/wide open

I had my window halfway down, when I went to roll it back up, I flipped the switch up, however, the window went down instead. Now it is stuck down, I tried the switch both ways, and of course the window lock button. It was making a slight clicking noise but won't move at all. All the other windows are fine. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need either a regulator or motor. Not sure which is most likely to fail on the 4th gens. Either way you'll need to take your door apart to replace the problematic part. If this was me and I needed to use my car tomorrow I'd be taking the panel off and raising the window by hand and then finding a way to zip tie it up for the time being. Had to do that with my wife's jeep a couple of times so she could still go to work the next day.

What I would do to start is bypass the switch. Since it could possibly fail as well (happened on my buddies Accord) you just use and jumper wire from the "window up" contact to ground.

Not sure how the regulator works but you can use that same method to see if its the motor that has failed. I can't see the motor just failing out of the blue tho, unless you just did a deep water crossing, I would think the motor would get weak and slow before quitting...nothing is impossible tho.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's the switch because when I pulled it up, the window rolled down instead. Hopefully it's not expensive

Also, jimithing, thanks for the video. The weather looks like its going to be okay tomorrow so I'm probably just going to drive it to a shop or the dealer and let them figure it out. Luckily I'm not working tomorrow.

an OE switch is 410 and the motor w/o regulator is 394, ouch. hope its niether.
