Driver's door will not unlock with remote or insides switch

We have a 2009 4runner that we are having problems out of the driver side front door unlocking/locking with the remote and the switches inside. It will unlock/lock with the key. I have seen problems with 3rd gen 4runners, but not 4th gens. We had it valet parked at a hotel for a week and I wonder if the valet key had something to do with it. I have locked and unlocked multiple times with a master key and it still doesn't work. Am I missing anything or do I need to tear into it to check the actuator? Has anyone else had this problem. I have a decent amount of mechanical ability, just didn't want to tear into it if it is some "learning" thing like the windows after battery disconnect.

Actuator is bad. Ive had to replace both drvier and passenger fronts. Part was like 180 from partznet. Not terribly difficult to install, if you want yo do it yourself.

Can't believe 2009's still have the weak actuator / motors.

I had all 4 of mine changed under the extended warranty.
Each failed at different times of course.

Big pain.
